Important New Procedure at the Elementary Level
Beginning February 1, 2011

Any student owing $(25.00) or more, purchasing hot lunch, will have to take a sandwich as their entree.  They will not be allowed to take the entree listed on the menu.

We encourage you to talk with your children and explain what will be happening if they have an outstanding balance. If you have a large balance and would like to set up a payment plan, we would be happy to speak with you.

We will continue to send home the balance notifications on a weekly basis with the students, but know that they do not always make it to the parents. We do make phone calls and send letters home via regular mail for the larger balances as well. You may always call the school cafeteria to check on your child’s balance.

Every student in the school district is automatically enrolled in the food service program. At schools with computerized systems, they will be given a pin number.  Please do not give anyone else your pin number. If you do not wish your child to be able to make purchases through the food service program, please send a letter stating that you do not want your child to be able to make any purchases, to the Keene Food Services office. A child wishing to purchase a meal or snack will only be refused if a letter from the parent or guardian is on file.

Keene Food Service is self-funded and receives no local tax dollars other than utilities. Funds from the State and Federal Government are received through meal reimbursement and the Government Food Surplus Program.

Keene Food Services provides services to the seven schools in the Keene School District as well as the schools in Marlborough, Harrisville, Marlow, Nelson, Chesterfield, and Stoddard.

There are two main kitchens.
The kitchens are located at Keene High School and Keene Middle School.
